Matt Shethar was born and raised in southwest Colorado. After graduating from high school, he soon sought new adventures in the Pacific Northwest. He gained experience in construction and landscaping while working to pay for college. Matt graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources and began his professional career in wildland firefighting in 2009. Matt worked for The Forest Service and Bureau of Indian Affairs across multiple Western States. He built and managed a robust Wildland program for the Cortez Fire Protection District. Matt and his wife returned to southwest Colorado to be close to family and raise their won tiny humans. He is passionate about the outdoors and loves to call the southwest home.
